The legendary Royal Oak was designed by Gérald Genta in the 1970s and has remained to be one of the most symbolic icon in the horology world. Nevertheless, the success of the Royal Oak model does not refrain the brand from the pursuit of excellence – the Royal Oak is being enriched for an exceptional Grande Complication movement in 2010. In the Royal Oak Grande Complication, the combination of minute repeating, perpetual calendar with moon-phases, numbers of the week and a split-seconds chronograph are painstakingly hand-crafted by a single master watchmaker. The movement that unites all of these functions, along with the hours, minutes and small seconds, is the automatic movement cal. 2885, which has an impressive 648 parts. With the diameter of only 31mm, the barrel of the movement stores enough energy to keep the watch running for approximatively 45 hours when fully wound. This luxurious and sporty instrument rife is housed in an 18k white gold case and complete by an 18k white gold bracelet.

The mechanisms and meticulous processes by which the Grande Complication is developed reveal the history of a brand that combines audacity and ingenuity.
