It is particularly rare to find a mechanical watch of this complexity produced in 1980, a year in which the watch industry was still reeling from the effects of the Quartz Crisis. Almost certainly a special commission, the skeletonised design, elaborately engraved movement and impressive, heavy gold case stand as testament to Breguet's conviction in the perpetuity of the watchmaker's art.
