Movement: first quality gilt three-quarter plate with double roller ratchet-tooth lever escapement and free sprung regulation, Guillaume balance with spiral blued steel balance spring and over-coil, the tourbillon with Nicole Nielsen Type 2 three-arm polished steel tourbillon carriage, the back plate further mounted with polished steel chronograph work, repeating on two polished steel gongs, signed and numbered By Appointment to the King AD F.m.s.z., numbered 010'330

Case: large best quality gold case with polished finish, split pusher to the band above 11 o’clock, recessed repeating slide, gold hand-set button with gold olivette, five-knuckle joint and turning pendant, cuvette inscribed Henry Sturges Morgan Jr., numbered 010'330, hallmarked 1931 and with maker’s mark HMF for Harrison Mill Frodsham

Accompanied by the original Charles Frodsham & Co. Ltd presentation case, a Certificate of Origin dated 23 June, 2014 confirming the present lot was sold to JP Morgan Jr on 30 December 1933. Together with a facsimile copy of the original Charles Frodsham & Co. Ltd. statement to J. Pierpont Morgan, Esq, dated September 1934 confirming that the present lot was purchased on 30 December, 1933 with invoice number 4725 for £350.
