Firmly believing in the unrestricted fluidity of time, HYT combines science, philosophy and art designs into their futuristic wristwatches. Inspired by water clocks invented 3400 years ago, the present H1 Alinghi incorporates the use of a coloured liquid indication to tell time. Inside the time display capillary contains two liquids, one coloured and one uncoloured, separated by the repulsion force between the molecules of the two fluids. As time passes the coloured liquid advances as well, using the separation point to indicate the time. Such ingenious mechanism is controlled by the hydro-mechanical bellows at six o’clock, which compresses the liquid within the capillaries, actualizing the fluid passage of time.
