the repousse backplate in the form of a curtained arch with a crown surmount above a peacock in its pride, detachable rack of ewer-form lamps, on shell motif feet

marked below crown, on backplate below peacock, on apron, on lamp, and on rack

A Hanukah lamp with fully modelled peacock, also maker's mark CW possibly for Carl Warmuth Sr. (active 1872-1901), was sold at Sotheby's 29 April 2013, lot 280.


Carl Warmuth Sr. was an active silversmith from 1872-1901, and his son, Carl Warmuth Jr., was active 1897-1924.
