Featuring a circular faceted rock crystal plaque, inset with a star motif centering an oval-shaped ruby, the rays adorned with rose-cut diamonds, accented by a blue enamel border, within a gold frame set with six rectangular amethyst sugarloaf cabochons, and six emerald-cut emeralds; circa 1890. With detachable pin fitting.

In good condition, the mounting with signs of wear and age including scratches, small nicks and small areas of minor discoloration, not noticeable when worn. Mounting tests as 18 karat gold. The rock crystal eye-clean to slightly included, in good condition. The diamonds of decorative quality. The ruby is of medium deep purplish red, moderately included. The amethysts are medium purple, slightly included, with light scratches noticeable upon close inspection. The emeralds are medium slightly bluish green, slightly to moderately included. The light blue enamel with a very small area of minor loss, noticeable upon close inspection. Gross weight approximately 20 dwts. Diameter approximately 1¾ inches. Brooch fitting may be removed for wear as a clasp.
