Harry Bertoia
Untitled (Bush)
circa 1971
welded and patinated bronze
9 3/4 in. (24.7 cm) high
14 1/4 in. (36.1 cm) diameter
Overall very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces present with oxidation throughout consistent with age and the artist’s intent. The patina and oxidation to the metal varies from a powdery teal to russet brown. One side of the Bush with a slightly darker area to the edges of the branches. A few of the stems are very slightly misaligned as is common for the form. The underside with five protective felt pads which are stable. A highly biomorphic sculptural form that presents exceptionally well overall.
