number 2 from an edition of 8

gilt patinated and nickel-plated bronze

impressed LALANNE, monogrammed FxL, numbered 2/8 and dated 2008

23 1/4 x 59 1/4 x 19 5/8 in. (59 x 150.5 x 49.7 cm)

Overall in very good condition. This table includes a nickel-plated fin at the center of the tabletop which enhances the artistic and Surrealist quality of this work. The table has recently been cleaned and polished by a professional conservator. The metal surfaces present with some very minimal surface irregularities and very minute pinholes to the metal inherent to the making and concentrated to the tabletop. The metal with some extremely light surface scratches and abrasions to the surface as well as occasional and very minor evidence of oxidation consistent with the natural evolution of the medium. The recessed areas of the tabletop present with occasional and very minor areas of variations to the color of the metal which are not visually distracting and contribute to the figurative quality of the piece. The legs with great variety in form present with some thatching to the surface as intended by the artist. A wonderfully modern and playful form by Lalanne.
