Overall in very good condition. The wooden surfaces present with light surface scratches, edge wear and indentations consistent with age. The wooden surfaces appear to have been refinished at some point in the history of the piece. The proper right side of the secretaire with a very fine and stable hairline crack to the wood measuring approximately 6 inches long and not visually distracting. The back legs of the chair with evidence of adhesive residue. The backrest with two very small areas with white house paint, not visually distracting.
The inside of the secretaire includes two drawers and a desktop covered with green leather in very good condition and presenting with light surface scratches consistent with use. The inside also include an electrified lighting installation possibly original to the piece. One bulb is provided.
The chair has been professionally reupholstered with white sheepskin fabric in excellent condition.
The cloutage on the chair and secretaire appears to be intact and in very good stable condition overall, with oxidation consistent with age.
