Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, this iconic design by Claude Lalanne retains its original, bright gold surface. The bronze with scattered minor surface irregularities and minute pinholes concentrated to the back and the base of the piece and are inherent to the making. The gilding exhibits very subtle variations in color, with slightly brighter surfaces on the lips, leaves and stem compared to the more matte gilding around the apple’s body. The recessed area around the stem with some very minor soiling consistent with age and not visually distracting.
