"Minguren II" Dining Table

2008

American black walnut, East Indian rosewood

signed Mira Nakashima, Delorenzo and dated 15 April 2008

29 7/8 x 133 1/2 x 49 in. (75.6 x 339 x 124.4 cm)

Overall in very good condition. An incredibly sculptural and majestic work by Mira Nakashima, the present lot displays an incredible variety of wood textures and colors. The wood with surface irregularities and hairlines and free edges which are inherent to the making and enhance the craftsmanship of the table. The wooden surfaces present with light surface scratches, scuffing and edgewear concentrated to the tabletop and base. One edge of the tabletop with a chip to the wood measuring approximately 1/2 inch wide and not visually distracting. The base with slightly more pronounced edge indentations. The edges of the tabletop and around the aperture at the center present with spotty areas of filling and inpainting to the wood which are likely inherent to production. Some very minimal soiling to select areas of the tabletop which is not visually distracting.
