Overall in very good condition. This vase has been beautifully preserved and appears to be in untouched original condition. The vase displays a rich and warm copper tone with variegated tonalities, which are much deeper in tone and more nuanced when viewed firsthand compared to the printed catalogue illustrations which are over-exposed. The copper surfaces with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions and wear consistent with age and gentle handling. The vase with some minor traces of surface soiling and oxidation on the exterior concentrated to the recessed contours, consistent with age. The copper with some occasional very minor instances of pitting, consistent with age. The interior of the vase with surface soiling and some calcification consistent with use. An extraordinarily complex and impressively scaled work with strongly naturalistic quality.
