14 5/8 x 30 1/4 x 20 7/8 in. (37 x 76.8 x 52.8 cm)

Collection of Henri Salvador, Paris
Patrick Favardin, Les Décorateurs des Années 50, Paris, 2002, p. 73 (for the present lot illustrated in the apartment of Henri Salvador, Paris)

An exceptional example of the collaboration that united André Borderie, Véra Szekely and Pierre Szekely, the present table displays fantastic unity between the delicate and colorful ceramic body and a free-form painted metal structure. Its unusual and highly sculptural form in the shape of a guitar are a direct reference to the table's original owner, legendary French musician Henri Salvador. A period photograph shows the present lot at the very center of Salvador's living room in his Paris home.
