Overall very good condition. This square-shaped and unique mirror presents with incredible detail and handmade stem surfaces in gilt bronze which are emblematic of the artist’s practice. When viewed firsthand, the gilt bronze displays a warm and nuanced golden palette. The bronze presents with occasional scattered extremely minor surface scratches, abrasions, and minor discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling, and with some occasional minor casting flaws and minute pinholes inherent to the making and not at all visually distracting. The top and bottoms edges of the frame present with scattered and very minimal verdigris marks to the steams which are not visually distracting and consistent with age. The recessed areas with extremely minor soiling and discoloration consistent with age. The mirrored glass with some scattered extremely minor and fine surface scratches. A superb mirror by Claude Lalanne which greatly complements a larger mirror form with galvanized copper leaves (lot 438).
