TORD BOONTJE

LARGE "BLOSSOM" CHANDELIER

circa 2002

produced by Prearo Collezione Luce, Italy, for the Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection

enameled steel, Swarovski crystal

44½ x 69½ x 16¼ in. (113 x 176.5 x 41.2 cm)

Overall in excellent condition. As noted in the cataloguing description, please note that this piece is a rare non-illuminated iteration of the artist’s celebrated chandelier series produced for the Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection. The enameled steel structure ties together a complex network of beautifully executed crystal pieces shaped like cherry blossoms, which present with an incredibly bright and shimmering surface when viewed in person. Some of the smaller crystals are grouped together and connected to the enameled steel branches using very small metallic wires. The steel structure with some occasional extremely minor areas of wear which are only visible upon extremely close examination. An extraordinary and stunning piece from one of Boontje’s most celebrated series.
