“Nailya Alexander Gallery has been a member of AIPAD since 2000, and has two strong interests: Russian vintage photography, and fine-art photography by internationally established contemporary artists, with a special emphasis on masterfully crafted prints. A towering figure in American photography and a renowned master printer, George Tice joined the gallery in 2009. Tice has documented the changing rural and urban landscapes of the United States for over six decades, and has an unparalleled ability to render the most quotidian scenes monumental. In this photograph, Tice reveals the unmistakable essence of American post-war design, from the bright, shimmering neon sign to the glistening chrome of the 1970s Chevy Impala - all against the background of a looming tenement building. Printed from three negatives in double-coated platinum palladium, Esso Station is illuminated by myriad tones and is a true masterpiece.” – Nailya Alexander
