This gelatin silver print is in generally excellent condition. There are a few scattered pinpoint-sized deposits of original retouching that are visible only in raking light. The mat is faintly soiled and has minor edge and corner wear. The reverse of the mat is faintly soiled. 'EHG 268' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. When viewed under ultraviolet light, this photograph appears to fluoresce slightly.

"I was trained as a photographer and as a collector and dealer; I instinctively loved beautiful prints, and who made more exquisite prints than Brett Weston? Aspen Trees, printed in 1955, is an excellent example. I always loved images that have three aspects: interesting perspective, texture and compelling form. Aspen Trees has it all." - Joel Soroka
