the koro finely inlaid in gold nunumezogan with wisteria, the flat shoulder with floral design and the cover with geometric design, the sides and cover pierced with chrysanthemums roundels with a double gourd finial

Kajima Ikkoku II (1846-1925) was known for his nunomezogan and work on shibuichi ground. He exhibited internationally in Liège (1905), at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St Louis (1890) and the Japan-British Exhibition, London (1910), and was awarded the hojo (certificate of merit) at the Third National Industrial Exposition in 1890.
