Bequeathed to the artist's daughter Dorothy Service and thence to her son Rev. David Thomas Michael Service;

J. S. Maas & Co., London;

William E. Fischelis, Jr.

The Primrose Gatherers was an etching published by Frost and Reed in 1908 and depicts two girls picking flowers on a hillside with sheep. It is likely that this study depicts Gladys Cooper who was Dicksee's regular model at that time, before she became a famous actress.
