[together with:] "$25,000.00 REWARD", 1 pp. typescript broadside issued by Colonel H. Norman Schwarzkopf, dated May 26, 1932, calling for "information which shall result in the apprehension and conviction of the kidnaper [sic] or kidnapers of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr.", watermark, spotting, tear to left margin, two folds, adhesive residue to corners, minor chipping to extremities


THE AUTOGRAPH EDITION OF LINDBERGH'S HUGELY POPULAR 'INSTANT' AUTOBIOGRAPHY, coinciding with his three-month tour of the country in which was seen by more than thirty million Americans, then a quarter of the country's population. The trade edition of We sold more than 650,000 copies in the first year.


In 1932 Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped from his family's home in New Jersey. The "crime of the century" resulted in kidnapping being classified as a federal offence if the victim is taken across state lines.
