Description

The Macallan 50 Year Old Anniversary Malt 38.6 abv 1928

u.bn, owc

1 bt 75cl (owc)

A very rare Macallan with an ABV less than 40%, the minimum standard to be defined as Scotch Whisky in the modern era. While it bears an age statement of 50 years, this whisky was distilled in 1928 and bottled in 1983, meaning it is actually 54 or 55 years old. Indeed, it is said that the oldest of the three casks vatted to create this bottling was distilled in 1926, which would make its oldest component even more mature.
