Condition Report

Overall in very good condition. The shade displays a rich and vibrant orange-yellow coloration when viewed firsthand. The shade with approximately 3 hairline cracks dispersed throughout, stable. The shade with traces of surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines and within the cast bronze “spider legs” on the top of the shade, consistent with age. The “spider legs” with some traces of oxidation consistent with age. One side of the shade with some extremely subtle and gentle unevenness to the surface, only visible upon close inspection, with one tile in this area that has been replaced with contemporary glass. The “Mushroom” base displays a cool brown patina and presents with scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions throughout, consistent with age and gentle use. The base with some traces of light surface soiling and oxidation concentrated to the resourced contours of the design. With period sockets. With a period “Spider” finial in very good condition. A bold and richly colored example of this desirable lamp unit.
