JEAN-MICHEL FRANK

PAIR OF "CROISILLON" TABLE LAMPS

circa 1940

produced by Comté, Buenos Aires, Argentina

painted bronze, fabric shades

21⅛ in. (53.8 cm) high each including shades

Overall in very good condition. The bronze presents with surface irregularities inherent to production. The lamps were likely repainted at some point in the history of the pieces and present with occasional areas of paint loss and discoloration, not visually detractive. The red primer under the paint is partially visible on occasion but not visually detractive. The shades have been sensitively replaced and are in excellent condition. A very chic model by Jean-Michel Frank. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.
