RICHARD DIEBENKORN
1922 - 1993
UNTITLED
signed with the artist's initials and dated 81
acrylic, gouache, crayon, graphite and paper collage on paper
25¼ by 22 in. 64.1 by 55.9 cm.
framed: 31⅜ by 28¼ in. 79.7 by 71.8 cm.
This work is in very good condition overall. There are artist pinholes along the top and vertical edges of the sheet as well as at all four corners, with two-minute associated losses in the top left corner likely from the time of execution. There is a slight undulation to the sheet consistent with the artist's chosen medium and working method. All of the collaged elements appear stable and intact. All painted over paper accretions, skips in the paint and differing texture of the collage elements are also consistent with the artist's working method and chosen acrylic and paper collage medium. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat at the top two corners. Framed under Plexiglas.
