German Artist Matthias Weischer utilizes a thick application of paint to depict scenes of interiors and landscapes which provoke a balance between reality and imagination. The scenes often incorporate open spaces, furniture and everyday objects paired with geometric patterns and elaborate detail, creating a narrative that might not otherwise exist. As with Spielhalle, many of Weischer’s works evoke a dream-like sensation, convincing the viewer that they are a part of the somewhat strange environment presented to them.
