RUTH ASAWA
1926 - 2013
UNTITLED (S.853, HANGING FIVE-LOBED, THREE PART, DISCONTINUOUS SURFACE WITH ASYMMETRICAL AND SYMMETRICAL LOBES)
oxidized copper wire
60 by 10¾ by 10½ in. 152.4 by 27.3 by 26.7 cm.
Executed circa 1956.
This work is in very good and sound condition overall. There is a naturally occurring oxidation to the patina, which is natural and in line with the artist’s intent. A light dust has settled on some of the crevices, as expected with a sculpture of this construction.
