HENRY MOORE | MOTHER AND CHILD (BONE)
Property from the Collection of Harry W. and Mary Margaret Anderson
1898 - 1986
MOTHER AND CHILD (BONE)
incised with the artist's name twice and number 3/6 twice
7½ by 5¼ by 4½ in. 19.1 by 13.3 by 11.4 cm.
Executed in 1963, this work is number 3 from an edition of 6, plus 1 artist's proof cast by the Fiorini Foundry, London.
This work is recorded in the archives of the Henry Moore Foundation.
This work is in very good and sound condition overall. As to be expected with a work of this construction, a light layer of dust has accumulated in the deeper crevices of the sculpture. There is a light verdigris in the void between the two figures and in a few crevices on the back of the child.
