EIGHT COMPLETE ISSUES, WITH THE SCARCE COPY OF THE SUNDAY GAZETTE

During the General Strike of 1926, Winston Churchill, while Chancellor of the Exchequer, edited The British Gazette, created by the government to replace the striking daily newspapers. The British Gazette was published for a total of eight issues, from 5 May-13 May 1926. Beside editing the broadsheet, Churchill also contributed original, unsigned articles to issue Nos. 1, 2 & 3 (May 5-7), and the final issue, No. 8 (May 13), in which he charted "The Birth and Life of The British Gazette."
