A LARGE ARCHAISTIC GOLD AND SILVER-INLAID BRONZE VASE

QING DYNASTY, 17TH/18TH CENTURY

清十七/十八世紀 銅錯金銀仿古夔鳳紋雙耳大瓶


of baluster shape rising to a tall neck with a flared rim and set with a pair of phoenix head handles, the shoulders cast with confronting kui phoenix alternating with medallions enclosing radiating flower heads, the foot and body similarly decorated with raised flanges enclosing archaistic phoenix, all reserved against a leiwen ground and detailed with gold and silver inlays
