4to, NUMBER 114 OF 250 COPIES SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, original parchment-backed grey bevelled boards, lettering in gilt with 'butterfly' designs on upper cover by Charles Ricketts, top edge gilt, others uncut, collector's green cloth box, some minor spotting, recased with some repairs to spine including small new section at head, hinges repaired, very minor loss to top corner of front free endpaper


THE MOST DESIRABLE EDITION OF WILDE'S ONLY NOVEL, published three months after the ordinary trade edition. This edition, printed on Van Gelder handmade paper, was advertised in The Athenaeum on 16 May 1891 as the Edition de Luxe.
