turned slightly to her right, with parted lips, her wavy, freely-worked hair pulled up and bound in a knot over the crown of the head; no restorations.

The head comes from an Attic funerary relief figure carved almost completely in the round. For the hairstyle cf. the Attic grave stelai illustrated by J. Bergemann, Demos und Thanatos, 1997, pl. 60f.
