Arabic manuscript on vellum, 15 lines to the page written in Kufic in dark brown ink, diacritics in the form of red dots, ‘ashr verse markers in a round shape decorated with red and green ink


leaf: 24.6 by 31.7cm.

In overall good condition, a fold runs vertically in the middle of the leaf, with a minor spit on the upper side, other minor folds throughout and other minor splits around the border, the surface of the recto with various stains, the largest one not wider than 10cm. and minor holes, the verso (flesh side) with some discoloration consistent with its age and minor stains, as viewed.

The ‘ashr verse markers of this Qur’an leaf are similar to those found on a leaf now in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, dated to the end of eigth century, inv.no. M.73.5.515 (published on https://collections.lacma.org/node/239663).
