A letter signed by one of the shortest-serving U.S. presidents, to the father of vegetarianism and inventor of the Graham cracker
Sylvester Graham was a Presbyterian minister, who is perhaps better-known as a dietary reformer. "Grahamism" became a movement, and people were inspired by the minister's messages pertaining to health. As he movement spread, the market for Graham flour, Graham bread, and Graham crackers grew. Graham influenced other Americans, including Horace Greeley and John Harvey Kellogg, founder of the Battle Creek Sanitarium.
