STEEPLE

flush-mounted, mounted again to larger card, in the original white metal frame, annotated By Henwar Rodakiewicz - Collection: Georgia O'Keeffe (An American Place) 509 Madison Ave. (Rm 1710) in Alfred Stieglitz's hand in ink, and a The Museum of Modern Art Loan label, with 40.5017 o'Keefe [sic] typed, on the reverse

gelatin silver print

3 ⅞ by 2 ⅜ inches

(9.8 by 6 cm)

Executed circa 1930.

So as not to disrupt its original presentation, this gelatin silver print was not examined out of its frame but appears to be in generally excellent condition. When examined in high raking light through the frame's glass, a small scratch is visible near the upper left corner, and there are 2 fingerprints in the left portion of the image.

The original white metal frame, with its metal tabs, wooden spacers, and hanging hardware, is in generally very good condition. There are a few very small nicks at the frame's edges. There is old, possibly original, linen tape along the edges on the reverse, covering the metal tabs.

In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
