This painting is accompanied by Utopia Art, Sydney documentation which reads in part:
"Alhalkere is the subject of nearly all of Emily Kngwarreye's paintings, it is her traditional land that she held dear. Kngwarreye explained that these pictures incorporated all of the elements that make her land. These include: Awelye (body paint and women's ceremonies); Arlatyeye (pencil yam); Arnkerrthe (mountain devil lizard); Ntange (grass seed); Tingu (a dream time dingo pup); Ankerre (emu); lntekwe (a favourite food of emus, a small plant); Atnwerle (green bean) and Kame (yam seed) from which she gets her name."
