oval, the lid set with an oval beige glass panel applied with a bouquet of carved and partially foiled hardstone and glass flowers, framed by old mine cut diamonds and a row of inlaid simulated pearls, the gold ground inlaid with interlaced striped red or green-grey Schlottwitz agates in a woven basketwork pattern, the outer border of inlaid turquoise, chalcedony and bloodstone or nephrite forget-me-nots and interlaced carnelian ribbon, the sides and base similarly inlaid around an engraved band, the silver-mounted leafy thumbpiece set with diamonds, unmarked
