of cut-cornered rectangular form, the lid inset with an enamel plaque painted, probably by Abraham Lissignol, with Peace Bringing Back Abundance, after Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1780), within a later border of half-pearls and blue enamel, the sides and base of the box decorated in translucent blue and black enamel, within black, blue and white taille d'épargne borders and dividers, rubbed mark with initials N.R in a horizontal rectangle, modern French control marks
