naturalistically modelled in the form of a large peach fruit borne on a gnarled hollowed branch extended to the side forming the handle, the knotted branch issuing broad furled leaves in relief forming the base, carved in relief to the side of the fruit with four characters reading Wanshou tianqi (Myriad longevity equal to the heavens), covered overall in a variegated sky-blue glaze suffused with a faint crackle imitating Song dynasty Jun wares, the glaze further dimpled with white and mushroom-coloured speckles simulating the texture of the fruit, the base with an unglazed area revealing the red stoneware body
