sturdily potted with a well-proportioned rounded shoulder tapering to a countersunk base and surmounted by a short waisted neck with everted rim, the baluster body vibrantly enamelled with a broad band of alternating large iron-red and purple peony blooms below a pair of peacocks in flight amidst further peony scrolls, the foot skirted by overlapping lappets, all divided by classic scroll bands and veiled under transparent bluish glaze

There are minor frits to the mouth rim and a hairline on one side (approx. 30 cm) running from the shoulder to the body above the foot. There is a drilled hole to the base with associated minor nicks. Minor retouching to the enamel. General surface wear.
