Cabernet Sauvignon 78%, Cabernet Franc 14%, Merlot 8%. In 2019, this remains great Mouton, with the Merlot picked from 6 September and the Cabernet between 16 and 25 September, the earliest vintage at Mouton. A huge, cassis, opulent bouquet leads to a plush blackcurrant, rich textured taste, exotic and mouth-enveloping. The power is lurking behind the luscious fruit and everything is gloriously in place. Miss this at your peril - I am always bowled over by it. In magnum in 2019, amazing 'class in the glass'. Great finesse of texture together with depth of black fruit flavour. Noble and lingering - and so very more-ish. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

The collection was housed in a large purpose-built underground cellar with high quality temperature and humidity control. The wines were purchased from two renowned wine merchants, on first release, have never been moved, and the vast majority were kept in stacks in their original wooden cases.
