The following were Gerasimos Steris provisional thoughts on The Dream: "In the middle of the painting place two young bodies, a man and a woman embracing and illuminated by glorious light. On the left side of the canvas a group of figures representing the poetry and drive for life. On the right side a group of young figures representing effort, the struggle and the accomplishments. These blended into a dynamic background of dark blue black. The entire painting in perpetural metamorphosia and movement." (Gerasimos Steris, Personal Correspondence).
