Before Champagne was recognised as the King of Wines, it enjoyed a long history as the Wine of Kings. Beginning with the coronation of Charles VI in 1374, Champagne flowed at the anointing of every French king which took place in Reims Cathedral.
To celebrate the 800th anniversary of Reims cathedral, Maison Taittinger has released a limited-edition stone case. Weighing 30 kg, the case is one of only 100 cases crafted from material used in the restoration of the Cathedral.
This lot also includes a private visit of the cellars with tasting hosted by a member of the management team, Mr Jean-Pierre Redont, along with an exclusive dinner for 2 guests at the Taittinger Château de la Marquetterie hosted by a member of the family.
The lot will comprise an overnight stay with breakfast at the 5-star Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa. The experience will conclude with a private guided tour of Reims Cathedral.
The overnight experience will take place at a mutually agreed date before December 31st 2020.
Flights and transport to and from the Château are not included.
Please note that the purchase price does not include applicable shipping and insurance, taxes or import charges which may be charged in addition to the purchase price.
