A WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT 'ENCAUSTIC'-DECORATED VASE CIRCA 1800


with a waisted trumpet neck, the domed shoulder affixed with a strap handle, painted in terracotta-red and white with a male and female figure, the broad lower section with a band of leafy vine between egg and dart edged stepped rims, and an anthemion below the handle, impressed uppercase WEDGWOOD.
