A SÈVRES PÂTE-SUR-PÂTE VASE COMMEMORATING CHARLES JAMES FOX BY TAXILE DOAT DATED 1930
of ovoid form, elaborately conceived celebrating Fox's achievements and lineage, decorated in a variety of porcelain slips and glazes, one blue-slip medallion reserving his family coat-of-arms and motto, another showing a large ship, chest and key, flanking a third embossed in white slip: 'Charles James/ FOX/ Born in London/ on January.13.1749./ .Died in 1806./ Lord of the/ .Admiralty. 1770./ Lord of the/ Treasury. 1772.', the foot embossed 'In memory of CHARLES JAMES FOX eminent statesman and orator by his greatniece Miss Hilda FOX-POWYS Oct 1928', signed TDOAT/ Sèvres/ 1930.
