shape number 2443, decorated by Marc Louis Solon, signed L. Solon, incised, each oviform vase enriched with powdered gilding and decorated in white slip with a putto standing, either holding a scythe cutting a rose or tearfully sacrificing a butterfly at an altar, the shoulder with a radiating gilt-scaled pattern, the base with an egg and dart pattern, crowned globe MINTONS marks in gold, impressed MINTONS marks, 16.1.95/K in gilding.
Height 5¾ in.
Both vases with gilt scaled pattern at shoulder with re-gilding. There are traces of re-gilding to egg-and-dart bands at base, located under each figure. Both pieces appear intact.
