A MINTONS PATE-SUR-PATE RECTANGULAR PLAQUE, 'L'AMOUR EST MORT/VIVE L'AMOUR' CIRCA 1880


decorated by Marc Louis Solon, incised, signed L. Solon., decorated in white slip with two figures mourning the death of a cupid on an altar, flanked on either side by cupids dancing and playing musical instruments on supports embossed L' AMOUR EST. MORT and VIVE L'AMOUR!!!, in a giltwood frame.

Plaque 15¾ x 8½ in.; Overall 22⅜ x 15 in.
