Patek Philippe released the reference 3588 in 1970 and carried its production until around 1980.To power this reference, Patek Philippe used the LeCoultre based calibre 28-255 for the first time. This calibre was at the time considered to be one of the favourite ultra-thin self-winding movements in production. The double signature by Beyer on the dial of this particular watch makes this a sought after and desirable collector’s piece. Beyer is a renowned watches and jewelry retailer located in Zürich and the shop was founded in 1760, making it Switzerland’s oldest watch boutique. Historically, Patek Philippe has formed a strong relationship with Beyer as one of the brand’s most prestigious retailers. They are also known for their Beyer Clock and Watch Museum in Zürich, housing one of the world’s leading horological collections.
