The Tank is as synonymous with Cartier as Daytona is to Rolex. Various neat and elegant models were released to the market over the decades, each with their own discreet and unique charms. The first Ceinture models, translated from the French as 'Belt', due to their resemblance to a belt buckle, were released initially in the late 1920's.
The crown on these models have been discreetly and securely been set within the flank of the square sided case and are also unusually shaped, octagonal sided rather than with sapphire cabochon making them far easier for the wearer to use.
This particular watch displays a luxurious burgundy coloured hour chapter and hands to compliment the original burgundy strap, further imbuing this watch with an enchanting vintage appeal. The watch is also cased in platinum, making this watch an even more unusual example.
