The reference 1675 was produced from 1959 to around 1980 and it is one of the most emblematic Rolex models ever produced.

This present watch, which has been part of the same private collection for many years, dates from just two years after the introduction of the model, in 1961. Part of the early production, it bears several highly collectable details. Firstly, the case of the watch has the so-called eagle beak crown guards named after their curved pointed shape. This early shape is also nicknamed ‘cornino’ by collectors.

The dial is also typical of that period with its exclamation mark at 6 o’clock.

Even more importantly, the surface of the dial changed from its original black colour to a most attractive rich brown shade. The natural evolution over the time of its surface makes this tropical dial unique and captivating for a demanding collector.
