HARRY WATSON, R.W.S., R.O.I.
TWO BOYS BATHING IN A ROCKPOOL
signed l.l.: HARRY WATSON
oil on canvas
122 by 152cm., 48 by 59¾in.
The picture is unlined and in excellent, original condition - the original canvas is providing a stable structural support and there are no signs of craquelure. There are a few small splashes of paint behind the seated boy - these could easility be removed by a picture retorer.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There is a horizontal line of retouching from the right etremity of the picture through the white sandbank behind the tree (approximately 15inches long) - this appears to be to a crack caused by the central stretcherbar and is cosmetic.
The picture is contained in a later moulded frame - please contact the department for photographs.
